Presenters

Dr Chaudhary is Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist. He is an expert in ADHD and has a special interest in Autism. He is an executive committee member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists RCPsych Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Special Interest Group NDPSIG. Dr Chaudhary was shortlisted for the RCPsych Northwest Psychiatrist of the year 2023 award. You can find more information about him by Clicking Here.

Dr Jessica Eccles Dr Eccles is an award-winning researcher and a neurodevelopmental psychiatrist specialising in the links between brain and body, especially as they relate to flexible joints (hypermobility). She trained in medicine at the Universities of Cambridge and Oxford.  As well as her University position at Brighton and Sussex Medical School as Associate Professor (Reader)  in Brain-Body Medicine in the Department of Clinical Neuroscience, she works in the Sussex NHS Neurodevelopmental Service (ADHD, Autism and Tourette syndrome) where she and colleagues have set up the world’s first Neurodivergent Brain Body Clinic.   She has been working on the intersect between hypermobility and neurodivergence since she first came to work at Brighton and Sussex medical school in Neuroscience in 2009.  She chairs the Royal College of Psychiatrist’s Neurodevelopmental Psychiatry Special Interest Group – bringing together neurodevelopmental clinicians across the country.  She hopes to challenge stereotypes and encourage curiosity. Alongside all things brain and body she is interested in photography.

Prerequisite Knowledge: Participants should have a basic understanding of general psychiatry and psychiatric assessment principles. Prior clinical experience in ADHD is desirable but not essential.

Target Audience: This course is designed for Consultant Psychiatrists, Trainee Psychiatrists, GPs, Trainee GPs, Psychologists, Trainee Psychologists, Psychiatric nurses, Physician Associates and other mental health professionals working with diverse patient populations, including females, LGBTQ+, incarcerated individuals, elderly, ethnic minorities, and those with co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

Please note that attending this course alone does not automatically enable you to diagnose and treat ADHD. Please check your individual professional regulation and indemnity if you want to diagnose and treat ADHD.

CPD points: 5 hours subject to peer group approval.
