We recognize that safeguarding and promoting the welfare of these individuals is everyone’s responsibility and that all staff, volunteers, and contractors have a role to play in protecting them.
Our policy is guided by the following relevant UK laws:
- The Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004, which outline the legal framework for the protection of children and young people in the UK.
- The Care Act 2014, which applies to England and Wales and provides the legal framework for the protection of adults who are at risk of abuse or neglect.
- The Mental Capacity Act 2005, which applies to England and Wales and provides the legal framework for the protection of individuals who lack the mental capacity to make certain decisions for themselves.
- The Human Rights Act 1998, which incorporates the European Convention on Human Rights into UK law and provides a framework for protecting the human rights of all individuals, including children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
- The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018, which provide the framework for protecting personal data and information, including information about children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
Policy Statement
ADHD Clinics Ltd will do its best in:
- Providing a safe and welcoming environment for all children, young people, and vulnerable adults who come into contact with our organization, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004.
- Protecting children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect, and taking action to address any concerns about their welfare, in accordance with the Care Act 2014 and the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004.
- Ensuring that all staff, volunteers, and contractors understand their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding and are aware of the procedures for reporting and dealing with concerns about the welfare of children, young people, and vulnerable adults, in accordance with the Mental Capacity Act 2005 and the Care Act 2014.
- Creating an environment where children, young people, and vulnerable adults feel confident in sharing their concerns and where they know that they will be listened to and taken seriously, in accordance with the Human Rights Act 1998.
- Regularly reviewing and updating this policy and our safeguarding procedures to ensure that they are effective and in line with current legislation and best practice, including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
Procedures
- All staff, volunteers, and contractors will be provided with safeguarding training and will be required to sign a code of conduct that sets out their responsibilities in relation to safeguarding, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- Any concerns about the welfare of a child, young person, or vulnerable adult will be reported to the designated safeguarding lead, who will take appropriate action in line with our safeguarding procedures, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- Any allegations of abuse or neglect will be reported to the appropriate authorities and the matter will be dealt with in accordance with relevant legislation and guidance, including the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- We will maintain accurate and up-to-date records of any concerns or allegations of abuse and the action taken in response, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
- We will work closely with relevant agencies and organizations to ensure that children, young people, and vulnerable adults are protected from harm and that their welfare is promoted, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- We will take appropriate action to protect children, young people, and vulnerable adults from abuse and neglect and will not tolerate any form of abuse or neglect by our staff, volunteers, or contractors, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.

- We will have a clear and transparent process for dealing with complaints and concerns, and will ensure that all parties involved are kept informed of the progress and outcome of any investigation, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- We will have a designated Safeguarding Officer who will be responsible for coordinating our safeguarding efforts and will be the main point of contact for any concerns or allegations of abuse, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
- We will have a whistle-blowing policy in place, so that staff, volunteers, and contractors can raise any concerns they may have about the welfare of children, young people, or vulnerable adults, without fear of reprisal, in accordance with the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998.
- We will ensure that all staff, volunteers, and contractors are aware of the signs of abuse and neglect and know how to respond if they have concerns, in accordance with the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004 and the Care Act 2014.
