As conversations around ADHD, autism, and neurodivergence continue to grow, so does the need for nuanced, clinically grounded, and practical discussions.

Dr Galvis is a GP in Manchester, with special interest in ADHD and Autism. She has lived experience and is an advocates for neurodiversity.

Why this conversation matters

In clinical practice, we increasingly encounter individuals whose presentations do not fit neatly into diagnostic silos. ADHD and autism frequently co-occur, yet this overlap remains:

  • Under-recognised
  • Sometimes misunderstood
  • And often insufficiently explored in standard training

This can lead to missed diagnoses, partial formulations, or care pathways that do not fully address the individual’s needs.

Our aim with this session is to move beyond labels and explore the complex, real-world presentations that clinicians and patients encounter every day.

What we will cover

During this LinkedIn Live, we will discuss:

  • The clinical reality of AuDHD
  • Challenges in assessment and differential diagnosis
  • Common pitfalls in recognising co-occurring conditions
  • Practical approaches to management
  • The importance of a neurodiversity-affirmative framework

We will also reflect on how clinicians can develop confidence in working with neurodivergent patients in a way that is both evidence-based and person-centred.

Open dialogue

A key aim of this session is to create an open, respectful, and reflective conversation.

We welcome:

  • Clinicians
  • Professionals working in related fields
  • Individuals with lived experience
  • Anyone interested in improving understanding of neurodivergence
