Teresa Lean is a Consultant Nurse with a solid background in mental health nursing, psychology, advanced clinical practice and independent prescribing. With expertise and compassion, she is dedicated to supporting individuals living with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Teresa is qualified to assess and diagnose ADHD and recognises that medication and effective management can play a crucial role in providing quality care for those with ADHD, which includes monitoring outcomes, managing side effects, and educating patients and their families.
As a neurodivergent individual, Teresa has several family members living with ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, and Dyscalculia. This personal experience has given her valuable insight into the challenges associated with the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of these conditions. It fuels her passion for providing exceptional care. Teresa also recognises the strengths that often accompany these conditions and is eager to educate both patients and professionals about these positive aspects. Her practice emphasises patient choice and shared decision-making, ensuring that care is tailored to meet each person’s unique needs.
Teresa is dedicated to research and evidence-based care and is currently pursuing a PhD. She holds a senior lecturer position at the postgraduate medical school of a university and has authored a book chapter, along with several short journal articles.
