Dr Bott

Dr Bott is actively involved in private psychiatric practice and supervises the treatment of patients with a wide range of psychiatric conditions. He provides specialist assessment and treatment for depressive disorders, alcohol-related problems, and stress-related conditions, including Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder arising from accidents, medical negligence, workplace bullying, and occupational overload.

He has extensive experience treating individuals with complex combinations of physical and psychological difficulties following trauma, working collaboratively with a skilled multidisciplinary team. He has also assessed and treated adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse, including individuals involved in the Irish Redress Scheme and other related cases.

In addition to his clinical work, he has collaborated with a major insurance company to develop a screening questionnaire for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder in accident victims, which has since been adopted by several solicitors’ firms.

He regularly provides expert evidence in Magistrates’, County and High Courts, as well as Employment Tribunals, and has been commended by judges for the clarity of his evidence and his ability to withstand robust cross-examination.

He is fully registered with the General Medical Council (GMC No: 1298864) on the Specialist Register as a General Adult Psychiatrist and remains in good standing with the Royal College of Psychiatrists for Continuing Professional Development. He is an active member of two peer groups focusing on clinical governance, audit, and medico-legal practice.

He has been a member of the Expert Witness Institute since December 2008 and was elected a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in February 2014.
